Nigerian proptech startup OgaRent has announced its efforts to address challenges in the country’s rental market by leveraging technology to connect landlords directly with prospective tenants and short-stay guests.
Founded by Idris Balogun Oluwaseun and co-founded by Faith Udoka Ifeanyichukwu, the startup is focused on enhancing transparency, reducing the role of unnecessary intermediaries and simplifying the accommodation search process.
According to the company, OgaRent was established after Balogun identified long-standing issues within Nigeria’s rental sector, including high agency fees, hidden charges, limited access to reliable property information and inadequate transparency between property owners and tenants.
The company explained that its platform was developed to deliver a more efficient rental experience by enabling landlords to showcase their properties while allowing users to access accommodation options through a structured digital process.
Ifeanyichukwu, who leads operational execution, product development and growth strategy, brings expertise in technology, digital strategy and startup operations to support the company’s vision of building a sustainable platform.
The founders noted that OgaRent’s strategy is centred on deploying technology to solve practical housing challenges and strengthen trust within Nigeria’s rental ecosystem.
The startup recently presented its platform at TECH CIRVEE FEST 3.0 in Ibadan, where it interacted with entrepreneurs, investors, technology enthusiasts and potential users.
During the event, participants pointed to recurring problems in Nigeria’s rental market, including multiple agency commissions, unreliable property listings and the need for greater confidence in transactions between landlords and tenants.
According to OgaRent, these discussions further highlighted the relevance of its platform and the increasing demand for technology-driven solutions in the housing sector.
Since launching in October 2025, the company has continued to expand its footprint within Nigeria’s technology ecosystem while positioning itself as a notable player in the country’s emerging proptech industry.
