Sharjah Taxi has completed 1 million trips through the Yango app since introducing its digital booking service in February 2025, highlighting the increasing demand for smart mobility solutions and growing customer trust in its digital services. The milestone further supports efforts to improve the efficiency of the transport sector and enhance the public transportation experience across the Emirate of Sharjah.
The service allows users to book taxis quickly and conveniently through the Yango app, while also enabling them to track their trips, view journey details and make electronic payments. The initiative aligns with the government’s digital transformation objectives and contributes to improving the quality of services offered to customers.
Commenting on the achievement, Khalid Al Kindi, General Manager of Sharjah Taxi, said reaching 1 million trips through the Yango app demonstrates the success of the company’s efforts to advance smart mobility services and meet customer expectations by providing modern, safe and easy-to-use transportation solutions.
He noted that the company remains committed to continuously improving its services in line with Sharjah’s vision of developing a sustainable public transport system and supporting smart city initiatives.
Al Kindi added that Sharjah Taxi is focused on adopting the latest technologies and collaborating with leading global digital solution providers to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experience and offer more flexible and convenient mobility options.
The app also enables customers to track their journeys in real time, access trip information and rate both the service and drivers. These features help improve trip allocation, enhance response times and raise service standards, ultimately contributing to a better quality of life for customers.
Sharjah Taxi operates as one of the projects under Sharjah Asset Management, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah.
