The programme provided participants with practical training in digital technology, entrepreneurship, agritech, and emerging career opportunities through sessions led by Safaricom Hook and other industry experts.
Students of Kiambu National Polytechnic participated in hands-on learning activities, career discussions, mentorship programmes, and technology demonstrations under the Safaricom Hook Circle initiative.
The two-day programme introduced students to career opportunities beyond traditional employment, highlighting prospects at the intersection of technology, agritech, and entrepreneurship. Participants gained insights into how digital technologies are transforming industries, creating new forms of employment, and generating income opportunities.

Speaking on the initiative, Safaricom’s Chief Consumer Business Officer, Fawzia Ali Kimanthi, said:

The engagement is part of the Safaricom Hook Circle programme, which was launched in 2023 to connect young people with skills development opportunities, mentorship, and support relevant to the evolving world of work.
Since its launch, the programme has reached more than one million young people across the counties of Meru, Mombasa, Nairobi, Kakamega, Siaya, and Nyeri.
As technology continues to reshape industries and create new employment opportunities, the initiative seeks to provide more young people with practical skills and industry exposure, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future careers.
