The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, is set to launch the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Vigilant App and MTN Closed User Group (CUG) Network in Abuja on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The launch will take place at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre in the Federal Capital Territory as part of ongoing efforts by the Force to strengthen technology-driven policing and improve operational efficiency.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the NPF Vigilant App is designed to improve communication, information sharing and engagement between the police and members of the public.
The MTN CUG Network, meanwhile, will provide a dedicated communication platform for Nigeria Police Force personnel, enabling faster and more efficient internal communication.
The Force said the initiative reflects the commitment of IGP Disu to deploying modern technology and strategic partnerships to enhance policing and improve coordination among police personnel.
The launch is also expected to support more effective information flow within the Force while strengthening the delivery of security services to Nigerians.
The police said it remains committed to adopting technology and innovation to improve operational effectiveness and deliver more responsive and people-centred policing.
The initiative comes amid growing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to modernise its operations and strengthen collaboration with members of the public through technology.
