In a retail technology ecosystem often characterised by aggressive bargaining and uncertain product histories, local startup MENXTT Technology NG is carving out a niche focused on transparency, international sourcing standards, and post-purchase customer support.
Operating from the commercial hub of Computer Village in Ikeja, the technology firm has introduced a business model designed to address the risks traditionally associated with purchasing pre-owned hardware in West Africa.
Addressing the Pre-Owned Quality Gap
Purchasing refurbished or pre-owned devices in sub-Saharan Africa has historically presented significant risks for consumers, who often encounter hidden hardware faults and limited recourse after completing a transaction.
MENXTT Technology NG was founded to directly address these consumer challenges.
The company operates a supply chain that imports pre-owned and neatly used enterprise devices exclusively through certified channels across Europe, the United States, and other international markets. According to the company, every device meets international standards, giving customers access to quality comparable to brand-new products at a fraction of the cost.
According to co-founder Anthony Emeka Nwosu, every piece of hardware, ranging from enterprise laptops such as Dell Latitude, HP EliteBook, and Lenovo ThinkPad to premium smartphones and MacBooks, undergoes rigorous inspection before reaching the market.
“We know that our customers work hard for their money,” Nwosu stated. “When someone buys a laptop or smartphone from MENXTT, we want that person to have complete confidence. Our warranty is part of our commitment to stand behind the products we sell. We aim to build long-term customer relationships, not just complete one-off sales.”
By combining pre-owned pricing with structured warranty protection and doorstep delivery across Lagos and neighbouring states, the startup aims to provide a viable alternative to informal electronics markets.
Pivoting to SME Enterprise and Cybersecurity
Beyond direct-to-consumer hardware retail, MENXTT has expanded its portfolio into corporate IT infrastructure and software licensing, targeting Nigeria’s growing small and medium enterprise (SME) sector.
Recognising that hardware deployment requires robust security measures, the firm has established channel partnerships with major international software vendors.
MENXTT now offers endpoint protection through Bitdefender, including its enterprise GravityZone suite, alongside document management solutions through Foxit Software.
The strategic expansion addresses a critical vulnerability among local businesses that require enterprise-grade cybersecurity but lack dedicated internal IT departments.
“Cyber resilience is vital for every organization, regardless of its size,” Nwosu noted during a recent briefing. “A business can operate with just a few workstation endpoints and still suffer severe financial loss, operational disruption, and reputational damage if its systems are compromised. We are focused on bringing trusted, practical, and competitively priced technology solutions directly to Nigerian businesses.”
Institutional Execution and Scale
The company’s enterprise operations were recently highlighted through its role in supplying and configuring the complete hardware setup for the WAEC Computer-Based Testing (CBT) centre at St. Peter’s Seminary.
Additionally, MENXTT fulfils bulk procurement orders for educational institutions and corporate offices, supplying hardware pre-installed with licensed operating systems such as Windows 11 and core productivity software to streamline deployment for institutional clients.
By combining internationally sourced hardware, structured warranty guarantees, and cybersecurity infrastructure, MENXTT Technology NG is positioning itself as a comprehensive technology partner for retail consumers and enterprises across Nigeria.
